In an attempt to save over £2 million, bosses at the Natural History Museum, London are exploring the possibility of cutting jobs in all areas of science, including the possibility of cutting the entire Micropalaeontology Group.  Micropalaeontology has been, and continues to be, one of the two central fields of study upon which past climate change (i.e. the only climate change that has actually happened) has been understood (the other field being isotope studies), and has therefore key importance in the country's efforts to understand climate change.  If you wish to object, an online petition can be signed at:
